About Us

Directors’ Profiles:

Richard Wood’s strong links with education have been forged through his position as an active first school Governor since 1997.  In the past he has spent time working as a youth worker and lectured in a High School and in Further Education, as well as gaining 18 years experience in training and management. He has always been a keen lover of the outdoors and has been delivering a variety of outdoor workshops in Early Years settings and First schools over the last 10 years.  He is a qualified Forest School Level 4 practitioner and associate of Forest School Education and Archimedes Training.  He has a comprehensive list outdoor leadership qualifications and also spends time on overseas expeditions.

Sally Wood (decd)  Sally qualified as a Primary teacher in 1987 at Charlotte Mason College in Ambleside, where she gained a B Ed Hons.  Previous to her final job as  Head Teacher at Hugh Joicey C of E First School at Ford, she taught in Germany, Cornwall and Northumberland in Early Years, Years 1,3, 4 and 6.  In 2004 she was selected to be a Lead Behaviour Teacher and was for a number of years responsible for the mentoring of teacher trainees.  During her teaching career she lead Literacy, Music, RE, D and T, PE and PHSE.  Sally was a firm supporter of education in the outdoors and children at Ford school still experience forest school activities with trained staff in their adjacent woodland, inspired by her passion.  She passed away in July 2016, but her desire to see every child achieve no matter what their background or ability still runs strong in our ethos.

We have a team of experienced staff who help us to support and deliver projects.
